Imagine That

My Dearest Rebekah,

It has been a while since I last wrote to you and a lot has happened in the past 8 months.  We moved back to Lake Charles because I was offered the job at the Wesley Foundation, where your mother and I met.  It was a crazy summer with the move and new jobs and new daycare for you.  But, you made the transition very easy.  Everyone at your new school loves you and you have made lots of friends.  We are also closer to JuJu and Pawpaw, and Nana and Poppy so you are spending a lot more time with them. And they are very happy about that.

You are growing up so fast.  It’s hard for me sometimes to remember what it was like before you could talk.  Before you had such a lively personality… and attitude.  I loved the newborn stage.  When I would hold you in my arms for hours.  When everything was new to you.  It was a very special time for me to watch you grow and discover the world.  But, this new stage is turning out to be pretty amazing as well.

You have such a curious mind.  Always asking questions about what things are and how they work.  Wanting to do things by yourself.  Singing all the time.  You and I will sit and have conversations about life and movies and books.  You help me cook supper and help pick up around the house.  Most impressive of all is your imagination and how you possess the ability to find joy in anything.  I hope that you never lose that quality.

I hope that you will always seek to know more and to better understand this world that we live in.  I hope that you continue to show compassion towards others. I hope that you hold on to the ability to find joy in everything.  I hope that you always know that you are loved.

-Daddy
